What are converters?
A converter modifies a signal electronically. If input and output signals are not compatible, converters will be required.
What are the differences?
There are converters for HDMI to DVI. With them, the audio signal is extracted and made available as Dolby Surround Sound and stereo audio signals as a rule.
The CYP AU-11CA from Cypress Technology does exactly this. The reverse procedure of inserting an audio signal into a video signal requires a converter, which can integrate the audio signal, such as the CYP AU 11SA and the CYP AU-11CD, both from Cypress Technology. Primarily today, converters from analog (VGA) to digital (DVI and HDMI) and from digital to analog are required. There are a number of converters, which can convert an analog video signal into a computer-compatible signal, so-called “upscalers”. Video scalers are devices, which improve the signal quality. As a rule, the line count is doubled. If a video compatible signal should be generated from a PC signal, a down converter from Gefen or CYP is the right choice.
